12 students complaining of pain after Richmond school bus collides with tanker truck

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Twelve students are being checked out after a low-speed bus accident involving an empty tanker truck occurred early Friday in Richmond.

According to Richmond Police, the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Cool Lane and Mechanicsville Turnpike after the bus cleared an intersection, but stopped short to let another car turn. The tanker, which was turning onto Cool Lane then bumped into the bus’s back bumper.

The rest of the students were taken to school on another bus and parents have been notified.
