Jahnke Road reopens after driver strikes utility pole

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A part of Jahnke Road near Westover Gardens Boulevard was shut down for most of Wednesday morning after a driver crashed into a utility pole overnight.

Dominion crews worked to replace the utility pole that was split in half around 2 a.m. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

This is the second time a driver has struck a utility pole in less than 24 hours.

When Dominion crews had to shut off the power, about 500 customers were affected in the area.

Since then, Jahnke Road has reopened and all power has been restored.
