CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Chesterfield Board of Supervisors will vote to approve the Purchase of the River City Sportsplex Wednesday afternoon.
Chesterfield officials announced back in October that the county intends to purchase the 115-acre River City Sportsplex, formerly known as Sports Quest.
The county is hoping this deal will allow them to help boost sports tourism and also make a profit from the events that already happen every year at the River City Sportsplex.
During the open tours of the facility two weeks ago, some people were concerned about how the county would maintain the facility.
The County Board of Supervisors will vote in their public meeting that starts today at 3 p.m. on Iron Bridge Road.
