RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is getting a head start on making “spirits” bright this year with a list of holiday promotions and giveaways leading up Black Friday on November 25.

On Black Friday, all Virginia ABC stores will offer an in-store 10 percent discount off any purchase totaling $50-$74.99, and a 15 percent discount off any in-store purchase totaling $75 or more. The discount applies to all products, from miniatures to gift sets to top-shelf specialty items.

ABC will also offer deals during its Cyber Monday sale on November 28.

On that day, customers who order select products online for pick up at an ABC store will enjoy the same discount — a 10 percent reduction off purchases totaling $50-74.99 and a 15 percent discount off purchases totaling $75 (pretax).

For the first time ever, Virginia ABC will launch its holiday campaign with the following promotions:
• “Mini Monday,” on November 21st — customers will receive a complimentary “mini” (50 mL bottle) of Crown Royal Vanilla Canadian Whisky with any $20 minimum purchase of wine or spirits. See www.abc.virginia.gov for a list of participating stores
• “Tasting Tuesday,” on November 22nd — more than 130 tasting events will be held in Virginia ABC stores across the commonwealth, offering customers a chance to sample products.
• “Virginia Wednesday,” on November 23rd – ABC has partnered with the Virginia Tourism Corporation to offer an exclusively designed “Virginia is for Lovers” bumper sticker with any in-store purchase of a Virginia-made product.

Virginia ABC stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but all stores will be open on Black Friday, with many stores observing expanded hours. A searchable list of Virginia ABC’s 363 stores — including brands and quantities of spirits available at each location — can be found on the agency’s website.
