Stolen SUV hits Chesterfield County school bus; driver charged

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A driver is facing charges after an SUV hit a Chesterfield school bus Tuesday morning.

Authorities say at about 8 a.m., a stolen SUV ran a stop sign and collided with the bus at the intersection of McRae and Rattlesnake roads.

No one on the school bus was injured in the crash.

The bus was transporting some elementary aged students to Hening Elementary as a part of the Gifted Program. Students were then quickly transferred to another bus and taken to Hening.

The driver is facing DUI and Possession of Stolen Property charges.
