Poor second quarter dooms VCU women 79-69 in return of Stollings

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A poor second quarter put VCU behind Minnesota and left the Rams with their first loss of the season. Minnesota outscored VCU 29-9 in the second period, and the Golden Gophers held on the rest of the way to beat VCU 79-69.

The game was the first back in Richmond for former VCU Head Coach Marlene Stollings, who is now the head coach at Minnesota.

Kiera Robinson led the Rams with 20 points. Isis Thorpe and Mooriah Rowser each had ten points for VCU. Carlie Wagner led all scorers with 26 points for the Golden Gophers.
