Police offer $20,000 reward for help finding Henrico County murder suspect

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police are also now offering a reward up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest of the man suspected of murdering a store owner in Henrico County.

Back in November, police launched a death investigation after they found Rajulbhai Patel dead in front of his store, the Tobacco Town convenience store on Wilkinson Road, at roughly 10 p.m.

Authorities now believe Patel’s murderer may be the same man who robbed the Mountain Express off Mountain Road an hour before.

New video shows the suspect holding a long gun, something investigators hope someone will recognize and hopefully lead to an arrest.

“Mr. Patel was loved and a respected in the community, and any assistance that the community can give us would be greatly appreciated,” said Detective Tom Slayton with the Henrico County Police Department. “So please take the opportunity to look at the pictures, look at the weapon and any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact Henrico police at 501.5000 or Crimestoppers at 780-1000.”

Authorities are offering up to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by their tip.  Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
