RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Get Fit RVA segment continues on Good Morning Richmond, where Whitney Harris works out with different groups to see “what it takes.”
Whitney went to Fort Lee to work out with various branches of the military, and they didn’t take it easy on her.
She started her workout with the Marines doing all sorts of different drills — including squats, tire flips, and running while pulling weights behind.
Whitney got tired in minutes doing a workout that usually goes on for at least an hour.
Next, she worked out with the Navy. They used the tires again, but, this time, hitting them with a heavy hammer.
Whitney then worked out with the Army doing squats and heavy lifting — followed by a wall crawl.
“How did I do?” Whitney asked while out of breath.
“You did amazing — you did extremely well. You’ve got the spirit,” Gunnery Sergeant Ivan Soto replied. “You should have become a Marine.”
Overall, it was difficult for Whitney, but for those in the military, it’s just a part of their daily grind.
Many of them said they’re up by 4:30 a.m. to eat breakfast and finish their workout by 7 a.m.
