UPDATE: 4-year-old Virginia girl returned safe; alleged abductor turns himself in

UPDATE:  The Amber Alert for 4-year-old Annabelle Richardson from Charlotte County has been canceled. Virginia State Police tell 8News her alleged abductor Dylan Richardson turned himself in in New Jersey. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says he is currently in jail. They also say Annabelle is OK and are working on getting her back to Virginia. No other details have been released at this time.


CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police have issued an amber alert on behalf a 4-year-old girl missing out of Charlotte County.

Annabelle Doretha Hope Richardson, who was last seen at 400 Thomas Jefferson Highway, is believed to be in extreme danger. She was likely abducted by Dylan James Richardson, 24, who is reportedly her father. He is described as 5’10”, weighing about 140 pounds, with blue eyes, and brown hair.

Authorities say they may be traveling north towards New Jersey in a burgundy 1995 Chevy van, with a license plate reading VMG2332.

The young girl is described as a 3-foot, 22-pound white female with green eyes and short blond hair.

Richardson has posted on Facebook claiming that he was filing for custody of Annabelle. He also said he was not hiding and that Annabelle was not missing.

Annabelle’s grandmother, Stephanie Clary, told WSET Richardson has a history of drug abuse and has a protective order filed against him from Annabelle.
