Prayer vigil for Tyrell Johnson being held in Richmond Sunday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A candlelight vigil is happening today for Tyrell Johnson.

Johnson died after being shot in Richmond’s Jackson Ward neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

Johnson is the 54th person who has been murdered in Richmond this year.

People planning to attend the vigil are asked to bring candles, along with white, silver and royal blue balloons.

The event is being held on West Marshall Street near North Madison Street, the location where Johnson was found by police, at 4 p.m. today.
