Two Chesterfield County couples die in Northampton County crash

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two Chesterfield County couples are dead after an early morning crash in Virginia’s Eastern shore.

Konrad and Angelika Erbes and Jakob and Theresa Eng all died early Saturday when the SUV they were traveling in pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer truck which was unable to stop in time.

All four people were residents of Chesterfield County.

The impact caused the SUV to spin around and the tractor-trailer to cross through the median and come to a stop on the other side of the highway.

All four occupants of the SUV died at the scene while the tractor-trailer driver was not injured.

The Virginia State Police Chesapeake Division’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The incident happened on Route 13 in Capeville, Virginia, which is located in Northampton County.
