Man arrested in North Carolina for Stafford County roadside rape

STAFFORD, Va. (AP) – Authorities have arrested a man accused of dragging a woman out of her car after their vehicles collided in northern Virginia last week and sexually assaulting her.

The Stafford County Sherriff’s Office said in a statement Friday that 26-year-old Roberto Carlos Flores Sibrian was arrested Thursday at a construction site in Sanford, North Carolina.

The statement says Flores Sibrian is charged with rape and aggravated sexual battery in the Oct. 31 attack.

He’s being detained in North Carolina on a $100,000 bond and Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.

The statement says Flores Sibrian had been living in the Fredericksburg area prior to the incident. A sheriff’s office spokeswoman said she didn’t have any further details about his immigration status.

It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
