HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A water main break disrupted service for some residents and schools in the Lakeside area in Henrico County Thursday morning.
The break happened at the intersection of Woodman Road and Raymond Avenue. Utility crews told 8News reporter Roxie Bustamante Thursday morning that approximately 60 customers are affected by the break.
Andy Jenks with Henrico County Schools says Trevvett Elementary School is being dismissed at 11 a.m. due to having no water pressure. Moody Middle School has low water pressure in only parts of the building, but will adjust and proceed normally, Jenks added.
Crews originally estimated that repairs wouldn’t be completed by 6 p.m.Thursday, but now estimate it will be closer to midnight.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use Staples Mill Road or Brook Road as an alternate route.
