CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Chesterfield County Police Department has arrested four suspects, including two juveniles, in connection to a homicide that occurred earlier this month.
At about 5:28 a.m. on November 1, police responded to the 2900 block of Galena Avenue for a reported shooting. Upon arrival police located 30-year-old Jon-Eric Schwartz V suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.
On Thursday, as part of a collaborative effort involving the Chesterfield County Police Department, Rowan County Sheriffs Office, Salisbury Police Department, Spencer City Police Department, and the local office of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, law enforcement officers in Salisbury, North Carolina executed multiple search warrants at the residences of identified suspects.
All four suspects were taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Two of the suspects are juveniles. The two adults who have been arrested are 21-year-old Darrius A. Ellis of Salisbury, N.C. and 18-year-old Najee T. Palmer.
