Meet Petersburg’s newly elected city council members

PETERSBURG, Va (WRIC)– Charles Cuthbert, Darrin Hill, and Annette Smith-Lee are the new faces of the Petersburg City Council.

The three rose to victory in Tuesday’s election.

“I think I have a different skill set and that is what I bring to council rather than a Caucasian male joining city council,” Cuthbert said.

Darrin Hill was also elected Tuesday. He beat out Marlow Jones for another seat.

“We have to secure financing and hopefully we can get our taxes collected,” he said. “Those are the critical things right now.”

18d873e41cfa471d87a99512abf593bfAnnette Smith-Lee is 56-year-old a budget analyst with the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation in Richmond who has lived in Petersburg most of her life.

“I have financial training and experience that I hope to use to help the city reach a better place financially,” she said.
