CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Carl Hughes IV, the man charged with killing three of his family members at their home in Chesterfield County last September, pleaded guilty to three counts of murder in court Monday.
Hughes will serve a total of 90 years in prison. He was sentenced to 50 years for each count with 20 years suspended for each.
Last September, Chesterfield Police received a request from the Richmond Police Department to check the welfare of residents at a home in the 3200 block of Walmsley Boulevard.
Responding officers arrived and found three adults deceased inside the home who were identified as 71-year-old Carl V. Hughes Jr., 54-year-old Angela R. Anderson Hughes and 22-year-old Bianca L. Hughes.
