Henrico County Police search for hit and run driver

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Henrico County Police are searching for a hit and run driver.

Authorities said on Sunday, October at 1:19 a.m., Henrico Police came upon the scene of a crash at Williamsburg Road and Eanes Lane.

Officers found a moped and its driver laying in the roadway. The driver was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, Henrico Police said.

The investigation determined that the scooter was traveling westbound on Williamsburg Road when it was struck by a vehicle that traveling northbound on Eanes Lane.

The second vehicle involved in the crash left the scene without stopping. The only description of the second vehicle is a light-colored sedan that may have LED lighting underneath the vehicle.

Henrico County Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver and vehicle that left the scene of this crash.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.  Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by their tip.  Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
