Fire crews battled apartment fire in Richmond’s east end

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Fire crews battled an apartment fire in Richmond’s east end Saturday afternoon.

According to Lt. Armstrong, the call came in at 2:45 p.m. When crews arrived at the apartment located at 1008 N 20th Street, they found heavy smoke coming from the side and rear of the structure.

The fire was marked under control shortly after at 2:56 p.m. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
