Byrum shoots 65, leads Dominion Charity Classic after first round

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Overnight rain Thursday softened up the Country Club of Virginia’s James Course, and the scores in Round One of the Dominion Charity Classic reflected that.

Tom Byrum shot a 7-under 65 to take the outright lead after 18 holes. Miguel Angel Jimenez birdied the 18th to take soul possession of second place with a 6-under 66. There are four players tied at 5-under, including tournament favorite Bernhard Langer.

Round Two begins Saturday morning, and the tournament concludes Sunday.
