Tim Kaine returns home for Election Day eve rally at RIC

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) —  Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine returned home late Monday evening to hold one last campaign rally at Richmond International Airport.

After his plane touched down shortly after 11 p.m., Kaine and his wife, Anne Holton, took the stage to address the hundreds in attendance.

During his address, Kaine thanked supporters, friends and family members during his final campaign rally before Election Day.

The Democratic vice presidential nominee, who has lived in Richmond for 32 years, said, “there’s no place like home.”

Kaine also took time to praise running mate, Hillary Clinton, as someone who unites people and saying Donald Trump isn’t qualified to be president.

The senator and former Virginia governor had not campaigned in his home state since shortly after he became the Democratic vice presidential nominee.

Clinton has maintained leads in most Virginia polls for several months, though the polls have shown the race tightening.
