GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Goochland County Sheriff’s office recently recovered a credit card skimmer at an automated gas pump.

The Goochland County Sheriff’s Office said they want the public to know that anytime you use a credit card at a gas pump, car wash, vending machine, or atm, you should check the machine for signs of tampering.

Signs include damage to the access door or evidence of the lock being pried open, security tape broken, or wires or cables being visible.

If you see anything suspicious, notify the store immediately and don’t use the card reader.
