CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Chesterfield County Fire Department responded to a house fire early Thursday in the 13300 block of Sherri Drive.

The call came in around 7:30 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found smoke showing from the roof and located the fire in the house’s kitchen.

The fire started on the stove and spread to the cabinets, causing moderate damage.

It took crews approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

Chesterfield Fire Marshals determined the fire started as a result of combustibles placed to close to the stove. Three adults were displaced and are being assisted by family members as a result of the fire.
