(WRIC) — Election Day is right around the corner, and 8News is here to be your guide. By the end of the day Tuesday, November 8, the country will have a new president: Democrat Hillary Clinton or Republican Donald Trump.

However, they are not the only candidates running for office.

While most people are paying the closest attention to the presidential race, depending on where you live, there are a lot of other elected positions and initiatives at stake.

8News is seeking to inform the electorate by letting people know who and what is on the ballot, depending on their locality. Another good resource to find this information is the Virginia Department of Elections website.

Polls are set to open Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m.
