RICHMOND, Va (WRIC) — The Richmond Spiders are a different team than they were a year ago in Harrisonburg, Va. With the eyes of the college football world trained on College Gameday at James Madison’s campus, the Spiders showed the world they thrive in the spotlight beating the Dukes 59-49 in a shootout.

Once again, the two teams come into Saturday’s matchup as top 10 foes (Richmond #7, JMU #6) and the winner likely takes home the CAA conference crown at season’s end.

In the year between, Richmond found a new expectation and standard for its program when it comes to big games on its schedule. Their current five-game win streak has produced all different kinds of outcomes: scoring duels, defensive slugfests, shutouts. Essentially, the Spiders find the right formula to get a win in any instance or encounter, thanks to that matchup with James Madison a year ago.

Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. at Robins Stadium on Saturday.
