RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Week 8 for our panel of experts is here. Almost everyone had a bounce back week, with Robb, Will, and Ron all going 7-1.

As always, feel free to play along at home.

Freeman Rebels @ Godwin Eagles

Pick: Freeman Rebels

Godwin is unstoppable at home, except when they play Freeman.

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pick: Virginia Tech Hokies

The Hokies win a closer one by a touchdown.

Michigan Wolverines @ Michigan State Spartans

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

Michigan wins by at least three touchdowns.

Washington Huskies @ Utah Utes

Pick: Washington Huskies

Utah is tough at home but Washington has something to prove.

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Wisconsin Badgers

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers

Wisconsin wins by at least 10.

Louisville Cardinals @ Virginia Cavaliers

Pick: Louisville Cardinals

Not even close. Louisville runs away with it by 20.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

We had quite a spirited email debate about which fan base is worse – I’ll go with Philly fan in general. Oh, and the Eagles win. Dallas really hasn’t been tested this season.

Washington Redskins vs Cincinnati Bengals in London

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

Too many question marks surround the Redskins about their defense and running game.

will-12Will Armbruster, 8News Digital Producer (Last week – 7-1, Overall – 35-21)

Freeman Rebels @ Godwin Eagles

Pick: Freeman Rebels

I’m a sucker for the home team when it comes to high school football, but 8-0 Douglas Freeman is just too good.

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pick: Pittsburgh Panthers

Pitt has owned the Hokies on their home turf for the past 20 years. I like that trend to continue this weekend.

Michigan Wolverines @ Michigan State Spartans

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

I become more and more impressed with Michigan each week. The Spartans have won 7 of the last 8 against their in-state rivals, but they enter this weekend’s showdown as 21-point underdogs.

Washington Huskies @ Utah Utes

Pick: Washington Huskies

Washington has been blowing out its opponents by an average of more than 30 points this season. They’ll get a much tougher test from a physical Utah team playing at home, but I like the Huskies to continue their unbeaten season.

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Wisconsin Badgers

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers

Wisconsin’s schedule has been brutal so far, and it doesn’t get any easier this week against 7-0 Nebraska. The Badgers need this one badly to remain in the hunt for a Big 10 West title.

Louisville Cardinals @ Virginia Cavaliers

Pick: Louisville Cardinals

No question here. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Lamar Miller accumulates more total yards than UVA’s entire offense.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

That loss to Washington scares me, but the Eagles are an impressive, overachieving group.

Washington Redskins vs Cincinnati Bengals in London

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati struggled to put away Cleveland last week, which is concerning, but it would take a trip to Cleveland for me to ever pick Washington on the road.

ronRon Carthen, 8News Editor & Vlogger (Last week – 7-1, Overall – 35-21)

Freeman Rebels @ Godwin Eagles

Pick: Freeman Rebels

Rebels will go 9-0 after paying a visit to Wesley Duggar and the Eagles offense.

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pick: Virginia Tech Hokies

Very important ACC Coastal game for the Hokies and the Panthers. I see the Hokie defense making enough stops to win their first game at Pitt since 1999.

Michigan Wolverines @ Michigan State Spartans

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

I’m amazed the Spartans has fallen off this bad. I expect the Wolverines to use last year’s awful end to this rivalry game and hand MSU their 6th straight loss.

Washington Huskies @ Utah Utes

Pick: Utah Utes

This is a tough one for me but I will go with the Utes to pull off the upset against the Huskies and end their 10-game winning streak.

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Wisconsin Badgers

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers

This time the Badgers will finish the job in a huge Big Ten game at home.

Louisville Cardinals @ Virginia Cavaliers

Pick: Louisville Cardinals

Long day coming for the Cavaliers at Charlottesville courtesy of Lamar Jackson.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Pick: Dallas Cowboys

Great matchup with both rookie QBs Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott but I see Ezekiel Elliott having a big day in the running game and an expected return for Dez Bryant makes it that much better.

Washington Redskins vs Cincinnati Bengals in London

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

Tough road loss for the Redskins last week but I see them losing a close one against the Bengals in London.

Mitch 2016Mitch Carr, 8Sports Director (Last week – 4-4, Overall – 33-23)

Freeman Rebels @ Godwin Eagles

Pick: Freeman Rebels

No Wesley Dugger, no W for the Eagles

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pick: Virginia Tech Hokies

Tech has been undone by up-tempo offenses twice this season. That is NOT what Pitt does.

Michigan Wolverines @ Michigan State Spartans

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

Jim Harbaugh will drink the tears of his enemies

Washington Huskies @ Utah Utes

Pick: Washington Huskies

Utah is not for real. Washington might be.

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Wisconsin Badgers

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers

Nebraska is DEFINITELY not for real.

Louisville Cardinals @ Virginia Cavaliers

Pick: Louisville Cardinals

It’s really not fair to pick this game without a line. I propose we leave it off and everyone starts 1-0.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Pick: Dallas Cowboys

The Eagles’ defense is nasty, but the wheels are coming off the Wentz Wagon.

Washington Redskins vs Cincinnati Bengals in London

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

That Redskins’ loss at Detroit was ugly ugly ugly. DJax is entering the winter of his discontent. More Shakespeare: Wherefore art thou deep passing game?

Kerri webKerri O’Brien, 8News Investigative Reporter (Last week – 6-2, Overall – 33-23)

Freeman Rebels @ Godwin Eagles

Pick: Freeman Rebels

Freeman is the far stronger team, they win this one easily and continue their winning streak.

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pick: Virginia Tech Hokies

Pittsburgh runs the ball well but the Hokies are strong against the run.

Michigan Wolverines @ Michigan State Spartans

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

Michigan is balanced all around. Yes, this is a fun rivalry but no contest here. Michigan State won’t be able to stop the Wolverines.

Washington Huskies @ Utah Utes

Pick: Washington Huskies

Jake Browning is one of the most accurate QBs out there. I expect a big day from him, it will be too much for Utah’s defense.

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Wisconsin Badgers

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers

Yes, the Cornhuskers are undefeated but they have been squeaking out wins. Wisconsin is on an uphill climb and I think they keep getting better and better.

Louisville Cardinals @ Virginia Cavaliers

Pick: Louisville Cardinals

Louisville is a better team on offense, defense, and special teams. Plus, now UVA is in the midst of a hazing scandal, the focus on the game is off.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

I am so torn on this one. Eagles have been losing away and winning at home. However, the defense really stepped up last weekend and I overall don’t think the Cowboys are a great team. I think the Eagles get pumped for this away division game and win.

This one is big, determines who leads the division.

Washington Redskins vs Cincinnati Bengals in London

Pick: Washington Redskins

Another tough one, on any given day these teams either play well or horrible.  However, I think the Skins are a slightly better team and win overseas.

amanda-malkowskiAmanda Malkowski, 8News Good Morning Richmond Anchor (Last week – 5-3, Overall – 31-25)

Freeman Rebels @ Godwin Eagles

Pick: Freeman Rebels

Freeman! They’re having a great season! Hopefully, they can stay undefeated.

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pick: Pittsburgh Panthers

Pitt! Pitt beat Penn State… Penn State beat OSU. There’s my logic!

Michigan Wolverines @ Michigan State Spartans

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

State isn’t having a good season. I lived in Lansing when they were at their peak, and they look nothing like that team this year.

Washington Huskies @ Utah Utes

Pick: Washington Huskies

Hmm…. I’m not that excited about this game. I’ll go with Washington.

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Wisconsin Badgers

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers

I usually pick Wisconsin, and I’m going to stick with that. They’re hit or miss, but I think with the home advantage they will pull out a win.

Louisville Cardinals @ Virginia Cavaliers

Pick: Louisville Cardinals

Virginia has stepped up their game, but I think the Cardinals are still much stronger.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Pick: Dallas Cowboys

Sorry, Kerri. Your Eagles are doing well, but I’ve got to go with the Cowboys! Their offense is impressive, and they’ve been fun to watch this season.

Washington Redskins vs Cincinnati Bengals in London

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

After losing to the Lions, I can’t pick the Redskins with confidence. This one could go either way though. Both teams have good days and bad.

tracey-smith-web-2Tracey Smith, 8News Reporter (Last week – 5-3, Overall – 30-26)

Freeman Rebels @ Godwin Eagles

Pick: Freeman Rebels

This pick is for Mitch. I know it’s a rival for the two, so here’s to hoping this game is an interesting one.

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pick: Virginia Tech Hokies

Hokies, Hokies, Hokies. I may be a Pittsburgh steelers fan but my alliance stops at the professional level.

Michigan Wolverines @ Michigan State Spartans

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

Michigan just hands down has the record. I don’t like to root for upsets, so I say the Wolverines take this one.

Washington Huskies @ Utah Utes

Pick: Washington Huskies

Again just picking the high ranked team here. Upsets give me anxiety.

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Wisconsin Badgers

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers

So maybe it’s not rooting for the top ranked, but picking based on history. It’s been a while since the Huskers beat the Badgers. So go Wisconsin!

Louisville Cardinals @ Virginia Cavaliers

Pick: Louisville Cardinals

Sorry UVA I can wish the best and pick you sometimes, but not this week.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Pick: Dallas Cowboys

This one was hard because I hate the Cowboys. BUT I think they have a better chance at this game. Picks aside, I’m hoping the Eagles win.

Washington Redskins vs Cincinnati Bengals in London

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

Again hard to keep betting against my dad’s team, but I think Redskins fans are used to being the underdog. I say the Bengals win it.

Chip VT 2Chip Brierre, 8Sports Anchor (Last week – 4-4, Overall – 26-30)

Freeman Rebels @ Godwin Eagles

Pick: Freeman Rebels

Douglas Freeman is 8-0 for a 2nd year in a row. Godwin is without Wesley Dugger. Rebels prevail

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Pittsburgh Panthers

Pick: Virginia Tech Hokies

VT hasn’t won against Pitt at Heinz Field since 1999, four straight loses in that time. Pitt has a strong run game and run defense, Jerod Evans and his skill players will be the difference with the Coastal, once again, on the line for the Hokies.

Michigan Wolverines @ Michigan State Spartans

Pick: Michigan Wolverines

Payback’s a _____. Jim Harbaugh will constantly remind Big Blue what Sparty did to his team in the Big House last season. Michigan State has had a tragic fall from the nation’s elite to boot.

Washington Huskies @ Utah Utes

Pick: Utah Utes

Washington is the real deal, Utah is always stiff at home. They’ve pulled off big upsets at home in recent seasons, I expect the same to happen this week.

Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Wisconsin Badgers

Pick: Wisconsin Badgers

The Badgers are now back into the Big 10 championship game picture after the Buckeyes stunning upset by Penn State. Don’t think they know this is a rare 2nd chance to push for the playoffs.

Louisville Cardinals @ Virginia Cavaliers

Pick: Louisville Cardinals

Lamar Jackson will put up Bo Jackson Tecmo Bowl numbers. Get ready to hear this all day at Scott Stadium, “TOUCHDOWN! LAMAR JACKSON!”

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Pick: Dallas Cowboys

The Romo rumors are returning, but Prescott is playing so well Dallas might roll with the hot hand for a bit longer. So long as that is the case, with Ezekiel Elliott leading the NFL in rushing, Cowboys are the best-built team to take on any opponent.

Washington Redskins vs Cincinnati Bengals in London

Pick: Washington Redskins

The 20-17 loss to Detroit was brutal. Cousins leads a heroic drive in the 4th for the lead, to be upstaged by Matthew Stafford. Not Cousins fault, turnovers, and injuries are hurting team’s chances to win each week. The travel to London could be a nice change to reinvigorate team before their desperately needed bye week. Bengals aren’t who we thought they’d be.
