12th Annual Richmond Zombie Walk: An organized public gathering of people dressed as zombies walking through Richmond; donations collected to benefit the American Cancer Society; contests for costumes

When: Pre-walk meet up/staging at 1 p.m., Walk starts at 2:30 p.m.

Where: Boat Lake at Byrd Park (on Boat Lake Drive); Actual walk starts in front of what was Dixie Donuts at 2901 West Cary Street, Richmond Virginia 23221

The Return of the Living Dead Bands VIII at Strange Matter: For one night each year, dead bands rise from the grave; bands take on the role of and play the songs of Megadeath, Iggy Pop, Helmet, The Smiths, The Minutemen, The Sisters of Mercy and, a spooky favorite, The Misfits. Plus a costume contest with prizes from Vinyl Conflict. 18 and up show.

When: 7 p.m. – 1 a.m.

Where: Strange Matter

Cost: Free

Scott’s Addition Booz Crawl: Trick or treating for adults; check out as many of the breweries, cideries and distilleries as you can and enter for a chance to win prizes. Participants include Ardent Craft Ales, Blue Bee Cider, Buskey Cider, Isley Brewing Company, Reservoir Distillery, Three Notch’d Brewing Company RVA Collab House, and the Veil Brewing Co.

When: 6 – 9 p.m.

Where: Various locations in Scott’s Addition

Cost: free plus the cost of drinks

Day of the Dead Halloween Festival/El Dia de los Muertos: A festive celebration of life, with live music, dancing, art activities, candy and food. Wear a costume and enjoy this community event.

Richmond 11th Annual Halloween Parade: Every year, the All Saints Theater Company leads a parade through Oregon Hill; all are welcome to join and participate in the spectacle

When: 7 – 9 p.m.

Where: Oregon Hill; meet up in Monroe Park
