Good Housekeeping names top holiday toys for 2016

(WRIC) — Before you start shopping for the holidays, take a look at this list. The Good Housekeeping Institute is revealing which toys have its approval as the best toys to buy for your kids.

More than 500 toys were tested for safety, quality and skill-building, and then children helped pick the toys and novelties they thought were the best.

In the end, these 30 toys made the cut:
