HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — During their regular meeting Tuesday night, the Board of Supervisors voted to award a contract to Gulf Seaboard, Inc., to serve as the general contractor for the construction of the Short Pump Firehouse No. 19.
The contract, valued at just under $5 million, will include all aspects of construction for the new firehouse. The timeline calls for the station to be operational in early 2018.
A total complement of 34 personnel will allow us to operate an engine, ladder, and fire medic from the new firehouse. These personnel will be hired and trained during the time period which the station is under construction.
This project is being funded with proceeds from the 2005 bond referendum.
