Richmond Police identify victim in city’s 52nd homicide of the year

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — According to Richmond Police officials, they are investigating a death that occurred early Saturday morning in the Swansboro West neighborhood on the city’s southside.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Naquan R. Bentley of Richmond.

The incident occurred in the 3300 block of Lawson Street, which parallels Hull Street on Richmond’s southside.

Police have since ruled the death a homicide after they found Bentley dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives are actively working all available leads in the case, and they do not believe the incident to be a random act.
