VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia Beach man has been accused of killing his mother.
42-year-old James “Jay” Baker Twyman II is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 72-year-old Olive G. Twyman.
Olive Twyman was found dead in her Virginia Beach home on October 9. The medical examiner says her cause of death was a sharp cut to the neck.
Olive’s son, James Twyman was arrested in New York City on October 12 for being a fugitive from Virginia.
An NYPD officer was looking to write Twyman a parking ticket and ran the vehicle’s license plates only to find that the car had been reported stolen. The officer also discovered that Twyman was wanted for a probation violation in Virginia for an August 2015 charge of threatening to kill or injure by letter. His attorney in that case, Mike Fasanaro, confirmed this information to 8News affiliate WAVY. Fasanaro also said Twyman was undergoing mental health counseling, but would not go into details.
Inside the car, police also find Olive Twyman’s missing dog.
James Twyman remains behind bars at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
