King George County woman fatally struck by vehicle while doing yard work

KING GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A King George County woman was killed after a vehicle ran off the road and struck her while she was doing yard work Wednesday afternoon.

According to Virginia State Police, at roughly 12:20 p.m. a 2003 Infiniti G35 was traveling east on Route 3 when it ran off the right side of the road and into a yard, striking 73-year-old Suzanne R. Marshall. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

Virginia State Police officials have not said whether the driver, who was identified as Christian Middleton of King George County, will face charges.

The Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is assisting with the crash, which remains under investigation.
