Grill sparks house fire in Henrico County’s west end

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — No one was injured after a home caught fire in Henrico County’s west end Thursday night.

The incident occurred at 8:20 p.m. in the 5700 block of Avery’s Court, near the intersection of Nuckols and Shady Grove roads.

Officials say the fire started at a gas grill, which ignited the vinyl siding of the home, and then quickly rose and entered the upper portions of the home. An occupant of the home tried unsuccessfully to battle the flames before the fire department arrived.
