Suffolk high school students’ photos spark controversy

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Suffolk school officials are investigating two pictures apparently taken during Nansemond River High School’s spirit week

The pictures show fours girls, with one appearing to dress in an orange, prison-style jumpsuit with a sign reading “Black Lives Matter.”

The other three girls appear to be dressed up as police officers.

The pictures were sent to 8News sister station, WAVY, early Tuesday.

School officials tell WAVY a letter will likely be sent home to parents later today about the photos.
