Police arrest one man, seeking a second suspect in Chamberlayne Ave homicide

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond police have arrested one man and are still looking for another man in connection with a homicide that happened on Chamberlayne Ave. in August.

Officers say around midnight on August 21st, they were called to the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Ave for a report of person down.  Once on scene they found Desmond L. Holmes unresponsive in the parking lot of an apartment building.   Holmes suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested Demontrell C. Hurdle in September and charged him with conspiracy to commit murder and use of a firearm in the connection of a felony.

Detectives are asking the public for help in locating the second suspect Bernardo L. Jones.  He is wanted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
