Kickin’ Chicken Wing Festival and Barktoberfest both great successes

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Kickin’ Chicken Wing Festival made its sizzling return this afternoon at the 17th Street Farmer’s Market.

The festival celebrates a whole range of flavors and types of chicken wings made right here in Richmond.

Not only are chicken wings the draw, but there was also live music and a people’s choice award contest.

Today was also the annual “Bark-toberfest” for all our furry friends here in Richmond.

It featured live music, food trucks, even dog-centric vendors and the ever popular costume contest.

It’s hosted by Bandit’s Adoption and Rescue of K-9s who’s mission is to rescue abused dogs and find them loving homes her in Richmond.

“It’s one of our biggest fundraisers that we do every year. Not only do we get to see and appreciate how dog-centric Richmond really is, but we get to see a lot of our alumni dogs that we’ve adopted from our bark program, so that’s really special for our volunteers,” Bob Adams, a member of the Bark Board, said.

All proceeds from the event went to supporting the bark program.
