HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — An East End Henrico block was shut down by police after a cache of what was believed to be explosives was discovered in the garage of a building in the neighborhood.

Upon closer examination by military personnel who arrived at the scene, the items turned out to be “covers for explosives,” but not actually dangerous.

Henrico County Police said that the 2700 block of Carlisle Avenue, which had been evacuated, has since reopened and residents have returned to their homes.

The owner of the house discovered the explosives buried while cleaning out a shed.
