Police identify man found dead in a car at south Richmond Dollar General

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man was found dead in a car at a Richmond Dollar General on Walmsley Boulevard in south Richmond Friday morning.

The victim has been identified as Ronald A. holder, 48, of Henrico County.

The medical examiner still has to determine cause and manner of death.

Police said they received a call around 8:05 a.m. of a man slumped over the wheel in the driver’s seat.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

There is currently no suspect information and police are searching the area. Police are trying to figure out when the shooting occurred, but believe it early Friday morning.
