Hanover County investigates multiple stolen vehicles, series of larcenies from unlocked cars

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Hanover County deputies are investigating after two cars were stolen from the 8200 block of Soft Wind Court. While deputies were on scene, a stolen vehicle that was taken in Richmond was recovered.

On the same night, several unlocked cars were rummaged through and items were stolen in the 8300 block of Plum Grove Drive and also the 9200 block of Hanover Crossings Drive.

Investigators are now processing evidence and seeking suspects in these cases.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office reminds its citizens to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables. This is a crime of opportunity. We once again request that any citizen that lives in the area where these crimes were committed and has an exterior security camera, to please check their footage and contact the Sheriff’s Office if anything suspicious is noticed.

Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637 (CRIMES), using the keyword “iTip” followed by their tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
