Adopt a Furry Friend: Duchess

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Meet our 8News Furry Friend of the Week, Duchess.

The one-year-old spayed female has been waiting patiently to be a part of a family.

SPCA says Duchess is laid-back who likes to be spoiled with belly rubs and hugs.

When Duchess was surrendered to the SPCA, she was nursing two kittens. Since then, both kittens have been adopted. Now, it’s Duchess’ turn.

Let’s help find this loveable feline a permanent home!

The SPCA also has two adoption specials happening this month.

October is National Adopt a Dog Month, and the Richmond SPCA is reducing adoption fees by 15 percent for all adult dogs.

Also, every Friday in October is Feline Friday at the Richmond SPCA. Adoption fees for all cats and kittens are reduced by 25 percent.

A reminder of what every adoption includes:

  • Veterinary examination
  • Spay or neuter surgery
  • Microchip
  • Deworming treatment
  • FVRCP vaccination
  • Feline Leukemia & FIV test
  • Rabies vaccination (pets over 4 months of age)
  • Low-cost post-adoption veterinary care through the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital
