Richmond man arrested in Southwood neighborhood shooting

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond man was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting that took place in September in Richmond’s southside.

22-year-old Hugo J. Palma Iraheta is charged with attempted murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

According to authorities, shortly before 1 a.m. on September 18, officers responded to the 4600 block of Southwood Parkway for a report of a person shot.

They arrived to find an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound lying on a sidewalk. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
