Police seek suspect after man stabbed near VSU

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Chesterfield County are searching for a man who stabbed and robbed another man near Virginia State University Monday evening.

The incident occurred at roughly 7 p.m. in the 3400 block of Watson Street. Police say two men who are known to one another were involved in an altercation when one of them stabbed the other and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

VSU officials were notified, although police say the incident was isolated and do not consider the suspect a threat to the community.
