ACC Update: Both Virginia Tech and UVA back in action Saturday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia tech Hokies rose from #25 to #17 in the latest AP poll while the Virginia Cavaliers returned from a bye week well-rest and ready to take on the Pitt Panthers.

The Hokies drubbed North Carolina 34-3 in the slop caused by Hurricane Matthew Saturday. Tech will now hit the road again to take on Syracuse. The Orange have a fast pass-oriented offense but Virginia Tech Head Coach Justin Fuente says the ‘Cuse can run the ball too.

Virginia will learn all about running the ball when the ‘Hoos face one of the ACC’s top running backs, Pitt’s James Conner. The Panthers’ defense is also one of the best in the league.

Pitt and Virginia will kick at 12:30 PM Saturday in Charlottesville. The Hokies and Orange will start their tilt at 3:45 in the Carrier Dome.
