PETERSBURG, Va (WRIC) — A huge historic preservation project in Petersburg is almost finished. HistoriCorps along with community activists came together to restore and renovate a house on the campus of Virginia state University.
The house is an original part of the Ettrick Village build in the 1800s.
“To show the involvement in the community, both Virginia State and community activists which is meeting a little bit later on today are going to decide jointly what they want the occupancy to be,” said HistoriCorps Director Robert Ogle.
The renovation was funded by the Cameron Foundation. It will be completely renovated in the spring of 2017.
