Amtrak suspends service in Southeast as Hurricane Matthew approaches

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Amtrak announced Wednesday it’s suspending service in the Southeast due to Hurricane Matthew.

The following lines are cancelled for Thursday and Friday:

The Silver Star 91 and 92 (New York City – Miami), Silver Meteor 97 and 98 (Miami – New York City) and the Auto Train 52 and 53 (Lorton, Va., – Sanford, Fla.).

In addition, the Palmetto 89 and 90 (New York City – Savannah, Ga.) will only operate between New York City and Washington, D.C.
