Police: Man arrested for stabbing Richmond convenience store owner

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police have charged a man with malicious wounding after he allegedly cut a Richmond convenience store owner with a knife Wednesday morning.

At around 8:30 a.m., police say the suspect entered the Cary Street Mini Mart located in the 1300 block of W. Cary Street and got into a dispute with the owner, who attempted to dismiss him from the premises. Once the altercation moved outside, the suspect pulled a knife and cut the store owner before fleeing.

The store owner received medical treatment on scene and is expected to be OK.

Roughly 30 minutes after the incident, police say they were called to the area after someone reported that the suspect had returned to the area. Officers arrived and arrested 30-year-old Dewon A. Bradshaw of the 1200 block of Wallace Street. He was charged with malicious wounding.
