CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Chesterfield County are investigating a reported assault involving several juvenile male suspects and victims who are members of the school’s JV football team.
Following a preliminary investigation, police determined that one male juvenile student was touched inappropriately over his clothing by other juvenile males who are known to him.
No charges have been filed as police continue to investigate, however, students tell 8News that those responsible have been suspended.
Shawn Smith, a spokesperson for Chesterfield County Schools, sent the following statement to 8News:
“The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority. The school division continues to work with Chesterfield Police regarding information shared about several students at Manchester High School. Initial student disciplinary measures were taken over a week ago by the school and the investigation continues.”
