Richmond Police seeking suspect in laundry mat ‘stick up’

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police are currently seeking help in identifying the man who they say is a suspect in a commercial larceny that occurred Sunday.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when the male suspect entered a laundry mat at 1221 Jefferson Davis Highway through a side door. The business was closed at the time.

The suspect then used a long stick to push up security cameras to point them toward the ceiling before stealing cash and coins from the business.

Police believe the man fled from the area on foot northbound along Jefferson Davis Highway.

The suspect, who is a black male, wore a black baseball cap, black jacket, a black bandana across his face and baggy blue jeans.
