Teenager expected to survive after being shot in the face in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A teenager was shot in the face in Richmond early Wednesday morning, according to Richmond Police.


Authorities said the shooting happened just after 2 a.m. on Sumpter Street, just a few blocks from Maymont Elementary.

The young man was taken to the VCU Medical Center and is expected to be OK.

Officers have not released a suspect description yet, but if anyone knows any information on the incident, please contact police.
