Multiple ramps at Powhite Parkway, Midlothian Turnpike close for paving project

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — As part of an ongoing resurfacing project, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews will close the ramps from Midlothian Turnpike (Rt. 60) east and west to Powhite Parkway (Rt. 76) south and the ramps at Arboretum Parkway on Thursday, September 29 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

VDOT says the collector-distributor lane from Midlothian Turnpike to Arboretum Parkway will also be closed. Crews are patching concrete ahead of an asphalt overlay application scheduled within the next few weeks. All work is weather dependent.

Drivers should use the detour routes posted by VDOT:

  • From Midlothian Tnpk. (Rt. 60) east, take N. Arch Rd. south to Reams Rd. (Rt. 647) east to S. Providence Rd. (Rt. 678) south to Courthouse Rd. west to Powhite Pkwy. (Rt. 76) south. Detour is highlighted in green in the image above.
  • From Midlothian Tnpk. (Rt. 60) west, take S. Providence Rd. (Rt. 678) south to Courthouse Rd. west to Powhite Pkwy. (Rt. 76) south. Detour is highlighted in blue in the image above.
