WATCH: Robbery suspect reaches over counter, steals cash from Museum District business

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Richmond are hoping the public can help them identify a man who robbed a business in the city’s Museum District over the weekend.

The incident occurred at around 7:50 p.m. on Saturday at a store on Cleveland Street. The male suspect can be seen on surveillance footage entering the business and starting a conversation with the clerk. When the employee turns to check the price of an item, the suspect reaches across the counter, opens the cash register and steals cash before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a 30-35-year-old black male who weighs roughly 150-180 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue t-shirt and plaid pants with a Chicago Bulls hat.
